This time of year is certainly an opportunity to count our blessings. Time with family, that festive feeling and, above all, the reminder of a baby born and laid in a manger, changing absolutely everything.

I had a very recent and tangible counting of our blessings however, when I received an annual giving report from MAF. In a very long spreadsheet document, I could see the names of everyone who has donated to keep us here in Liberia, serving with MAF. Every year it’s an incredibly humbling moment, seeing those figures rolling in front of my eyes, seeing the sacrificial giving from so many individuals. In a time where the cost of living is increasing and belts are tightening, it brought a very real tear to my eye, seeing all these people standing with us so faithfully, month in and month out.

With life so hectic at the moment, it’s not been possible to send out individual messages or Christmas cards to say how very much we appreciate you standing with us. If you are one of those regular givers, please know that you are not forgotten. We are so thankful for you, for your thoughts and prayers and practical support.

That list doesn’t even begin to cover the names of all of those who prayerfully lift us up, each and every day. It doesn’t tell us of the moments when you think of us, here in Liberia, when you send an email with an encouragement to keep us going on a difficult day. It’s all of that support combined that keeps us here, doing this work God has called us to.

Words fail me when I start writing about these things. There’s no dictionary or thesaurus that can help me express how much your support means to us. We love you, we’re so thankful you are walking with us on this adventure, and we pray that God would pour out abundant blessings on your lives in turn.

May this Christmas time be filled with memory making moments, and a very real awareness of the peace and joy of Christ.
