Once upon a time there was a monkey. This monkey noticed that in the river there was a fish splashing around and clearly struggling against the flow of the water. Well that’s it! Dave’s had his last day at Garmin and Becky’s had her last day volunteering in the Testwood Baptist Church office. It was a happy-sad kind of day for us both saying farewell to the old, but eagerly looking forward to the new. On Monday we officially start with MAF, kicking off with a week long induction with MAF International in Ashford, Kent.
What a wonderful week in Cornwall we just enjoyed! It was great to spend some time with amazing friends in the sunshine, staying in a house right on the beach; we couldn’t have asked for a better break. It gave us a bit of time to unwind and process the changes coming up soon, as everything had been incredibly busy for the last few months.
It’s been a pretty busy couple of weeks for us getting the final few bits and pieces of our journey into MAF sorted. On Thursday last week we took to the streets of London for a medical and psychological checkup, and we are happy to report that we are both healthy and have been deemed sane (enough) for working overseas!
We have a new website! Which I guess you know, as you’re reading this post on it! Our plan is to keep this website as up to date as possible as we progress on our journey into serving full time with Mission Aviation Fellowship. We’re so excited to share this new adventure with you, and hope you’ll find everything here on this site helpful and informative.
